How billing works
1 credit = $0.01 of usage at list price, and 100 credits cost $0.15. Each request is priced in USD at Anthropic's list prices, then multiplied by 100 to give the credits deducted. Input, output, cache writes and cache reads are each priced separately (tokens × list price) and then added up. Every model is billed at 1x, with no markup. For example, a Claude Code task that would cost $0.90 at list price deducts 90 credits, which cost you $0.135.
Against list price: $1 of usage (100 credits) costs you $0.15, which is 15% of list price. USD list prices are those published on Anthropic's pricing page.
How prompt caching is billed
Every turn, Claude Code resends the system prompt, project files and earlier context to the model. With prompt caching on, the first send is billed as a cache write, and anything resent while the cache is still valid is billed as a cache read, which costs far less than regular input.
OpusVIP bills caching at Anthropic's own ratios: a 5-minute write is 1.25x the input price, a 1-hour write is 2x, and a cache read costs far less than regular input. The console log shows each request's cache write and cache read tokens separately.
Requests that are never billed
- Requests that return an upstream error or don't complete successfully.
- Rejected requests: failed authentication, insufficient balance, unavailable model or unsupported client.
Top-ups
Top up in the console with Stripe: card, Alipay or WeChat Pay (Apple Pay and Google Pay work too). 100 credits ($1 of usage at list price) cost $0.15, and the minimum top-up is $1.50 (1,000 credits).
Checking your bill
The console usage log lists the time, model, input / output / cache write / cache read tokens and credits deducted for every request. You can filter it by time range and total it up.
